about  bethany care foundation

In 2004, Bethany Care Foundation was established as a registered charity (Registered Charitable BN 87675 4102 RR0001) to support the vision and mission of Bethany Care Society.  Our purpose is to help donors contribute in meaningful ways to preserve and enhance the quality of life for residents and clients of Bethany.

The Foundation’s focus is on fundraising for capital projects, innovative programs, equipment and furnishings that benefit residents and clients at all Bethany locations as part of Bethany’s mission of Creating Caring Communities.

about bethany care society

Since its founding in 1945, Bethany Care Society has become one of the largest not-for-profit providers of health, housing and community services for seniors and adults with disabilities in Western Canada.  We offer a unique spectrum of services designed to promote personal autonomy, choice, dignity and quality of life for our residents.

The historic Riley Estate, a 4.75 acre parcel of land located at 1918 – 18 Ave NW, became the inaugural Bethany site when purchased for $10,000. In June 1946, the first Bethany home opened its doors with accommodation for 19 guests.

Today, the Bethany family of services includes seven continuing care centres that are home to 1900 residents; 738 independent housing suites; numerous adult day support programs and over 5000 subscribers to Phillips Lifeline.

Working together to make a difference for seniors and people with disabilities.
